This vintage tee celebrates surviving through the TIU strike of 1983. This nationwide strike involved a labor dispute between the Telecommunications International Union and AT&T, and at its peak the strike involved around 675,000 employees across the country. Since most calls were dialed directly by 1983, the strike did little to actually disrupt phone service, but it did put a strain on middle managers, who were forced to work 12-hour shifts to compensate for the striking workers.
