It was one of the label's earliest releases and it essentially featured the who's who of underground artists of the early 80s.

The album was split into two sides, with Side A featuring a number of essential 80s hardcore and punk bands, and Side B consisting more of art rock groups. Some notable contributers included D.O.A., Black Flag, Bad Brains, Circle Jerks, Subhumans, The Feederz, The Offs, Flipper, Voice Farm, Geza X, and Half Japanese. The album's original release featured an insert that listed all the alternative groups that were known to play the US and Canada at the time such as Minutemen, The Misfits, Modern Warfare, Social Distortion, The Fleshtones, The Go-Go's, and T.S.O.L. It was a concentrated effort to celebrate American punk rock and it resonated strongly with the misunderstood youth of the era. For many it was the perfect introduction to the hardcore movement, and while it was never reissued, the album is still shared widely throughout the punk community.

The tag says extra large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult large.
