This sweet vintage tee was made in the 80s to promote the 1981 science fiction comedy film Modern Problems which starred Saturday Night Live alum Chevy Chase. In the movie, Chase plays Max Fielder, a man who gains telekinetic powers after he's exposed to nuclear waste. Max spends the film using his powers to try and win back his ex-girlfriend portrayed by Patti D'Arbanville. In one scene during the film, Chase's character is electrocuted. While they were filming a different scene, Chevy Chase actually was almost electrocuted due to some dangerous wiring, this mishap forced the actor to spend several weeks in the hospital.

The film was released with a PG rating, although this was only after it was recut. The original cut of the film would have earned an R rating, as PG-13 hadn't been established yet. The MPAA wouldn't implement this option until after the release of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in 1984. The writers of Modern Problems, which included director Ken Shapiro, were upset that film had to be recut, as they felt that most of the movie's best laughs were lost with the new rating.
