This sweet long-sleeved tee commemorates the 1982 Philadelphia Independence Marathon. This race was held annually throughout the 80s on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The course used to take runners from Ambler, Pennsylvania about twelve miles to Independence Hall in the heart of Philly. It was later revised to take participants from Independence Hall, into Chestnut Hill, and then over to Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park. This was to eliminate the devastating challenge of having to climb up Germantown Avenue, a feat which used to have runners collapsing to their knees and gasping for air.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. There are small holes throughout, see pics.
