This cool vintage ringer features a colorful image of some psychedelic mushrooms. Psilocybin mushrooms, also referred to as "magic mushrooms", are a common recreational drug, and beyond that they were used for centuries by indigenous cultures, often for spiritual purposes. The psilocybin in the fungi gets converted to psilocin when ingested, and it can lead to feelings of euphoria, altered perceptions of time, and visual hallucinations.
Hallucingenic drugs were most common during the 60s thanks to hippie counterculture. Many hippies promoted the use of psychedelic drugs like shrooms and LSD as a means of spiritual enlightenment, and it was during the 60s that Ken Kesesy helped to boost the use of these drugs through his touring series of parties called The Acid Tests. Although mushrooms are often associated with this time period, this shirt was made in the 80s, which was known for harder drugs like crack cocaine. Still, by the 1970s, many species of psilocybin mushrooms had been identified and collected, and their availability made them one of the most popular psychedelic drugs on the market.
Fits like a modern unisex youth large. There is a spot on the left side when wearing, see pics.
