This shirt is from the 1982-83 Rush world tour. The Tour was to promote the album Signals, and this shirt is from one concert at the Long Beach, California Arena on February 14, and 15. Signals was the band's ninth studio album and it was the last album to be produced by the band's long time associate Terry Brown, who they had worked with since 1974. The album peaked at number one in Canada but only reached number ten in the United States. It included the singles "Subdivsions", "Countdown", and "New World Man" which became band's highest charting US single.

The artwork featured on both the album's cover and on the shirt was designed by Canadian Juno Award winning artist Hugh Syme. Syme has designed all of Rush's cover art beginning with the 1975 album Caress of Steel  and he is also known for creating the band's Starman logo.
