This amazing graphic tee features America's favorite yellow family, The Simpsons. This shirt dates back to 1989, the year the series aired, which makes this one of the earliest pieces of Simpsons promotional material. The animated sitcom is the longest running American sitcom with an impressive 34 seasons and counting.
The Simpsons made their first TV appearance as an animated short on The Tracey Ullman Show. Creator Matt Groening was asked by the show's producer to pitch an idea for a short and he made up The Simpsons basically on the spot. While waiting to give his pitch, he realized his initial idea wouldn't work due to the licensing issues so he quickly drew up rough sketches for a dysfunctional family loosely based on his own. He named all of the characters after his own family members, except for Bart who's name was chosen as an anagram for "Brat." The short was extremely popular and within a few years, Fox greenlit The Simpsons for a full series.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. Shirt is very soft. Small run on front, see pics.
