This incredible tee is a rare piece of vintage merch from the punk rock band The Vandals. This shirt features a graphic of a samurai slaughtering an opponent as he commits seppuku, with the caption Party-Fu. This graphic also features the same version of the band's logo that was used for the cover of the 1982 EP Peace Thru Vandalism. This was the group's debut EP, released two years before their first studio album, and it was also one of the first releases from Brett Gurewitz's Epitaph Records.
Peace Thru Vandalism perfectly established the band's upbeat sound and penchant for humorous lyrics. It included the tracks, "Anarchy Burger", "The Legend of Pat Brown", and "Urban Struggle", which was written about the constant conflicts that would breakout between punk rockers and country music fans at the California club the Cuckoo's Nest.
While this shirt is from the Vandals' early days in the 80s, the band was essential to the California punk revival of the 90s. Members Joe Escalante and Warren Fitzgerald also launched the label Kung Fu Records, which worked with bands like The Ataris, Ozma, and Tsunami Bomb.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. This shirt is off-white in color, and has several holes on the front, see pics.
