This awesome raglan tee is from Welcome Home, a 1986 benefit concert that was held to raise money for veterans of the Vietnam War. This four-hour long concert was held at the Forum in Inglewood, California on February 24th, and the proceeds were donated to the Vietnam Veteran Leadership Program, the Lamar Williams Foundation, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission. The event took place more than a decade after the Fall of Saigon, but the reception for many Vietnam veterans when they first returned home was less than positive. A decade later and the negative impacts of the war on servicemen had become strikingly evident, and the organizers felt compelled to show their appreciation.
The concert featured a variety of musicians, actors, and entertainers, who are listed on the back of this tee. Some of the performers and speakers at the event included Charlie Daniels, Joe Walsh, Ed Asner, John Ritter, Buddy Miles, Brian Wilson, Graham Nash, Ritchie Havens, Herbie Hancock, Whoopie Goldberg, Chris Helman, Rita Coolidge, Martha Raye, Peter Fonda, and Jon Voight, just to name a few.
