This sweet t-shirt pays homage to Cher's 1999 Do You Believe? tour in promotion of her album Believe. Cher made her mark on the 60s and 70s as part of the duo, Sonny and Cher, and she released successful solo singles as well, like "Dark Lady" and "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves." Throughout her decades long career, Cher has established herself as the comeback queen. Through all the ups and downs, Cher continues to reinvent herself and bounce back from everything thrown at her.
Believe marked what fans call Cher's fourth musical comeback. It was a remarkable departure from her previous work, as it was comprised of dance-pop, disco tracks. The album became famous for its use of new tech, namely auto-tune, which eventually became known as the "Cher effect." The album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and, in addition to the title track, included the popular singles, "Strong Enough," "All or Nothing," and "Dov'e l'amore."
The Do You Believe? Tour was only meant to run for six months during 1999 but, due to the first half being so successful, the tour was extended into 2000. This tee is from the first leg of the tour that saw Cher travel around North America from June to September. Some of her openers included Cyndi Lauper, Julio Iglesias Jr., and Michael McDonald. Unsurprisingly, Cher rocked a variety of costumes during the Do You Believe? tour. One involved a stringed skirt, mesh top, and huge red wig which she self-deprecatingly dubbed as her "Bozo the Clown-meets- Braveheart" look.
