This awesome shirt celebrates the 1993-1994 Houston Rockets and their Western Conference Championship. The team won the Conference Finals against the Utah Jazz, which allowed them to advance to the 1994 NBA Finals, where they faced the New York Knicks. Not only was this the Rockets' first chance at the NBA title since 1986, but the team was victorious, earning the franchise's first ever NBA championship.
Up to that point in the 90s, the NBA Finals had been dominated by the Chicago Bulls, but Michael Jordan's temporary retirement from the NBA offered a chance for another team to swoop in and grab the title. This was also the first year that both the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers were absent from the playoffs. After the Rockets won, Hakeem Olajuwon was named MVP, making him the first to win the honor of regular season MVP, Finals MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year all in the same season.
