Not only was this the Rockets' first chance at the NBA title since 1986, but the team was victorious, earning the franchise's first ever NBA championship.

Up to that point in the 90s, the NBA Finals had been dominated by the Chicago Bulls, but Michael Jordan's temporary retirement from the NBA offered a chance for another team to swoop in and grab the title.
