This awesome t-shirt is for the cult classic action film Johnny Mnemonic, starring Keanu Reeves. The movie, which is set in a dystopian cyberpunk future, featured Reeves as a data courier who has to protect confidential information from a mega-corporation aided by the yakuza. The movie was based on a short story written by the celebrated science fiction author William Gibson, and directed by the contemporary artist Robert Longo. The duo were looking to make a low budget art film based on Gibson's story, but Sony Pictures had other plans after Reeves' latest movie Speed turned out to be a surprise smash hit.

Gibson and Longo were disappointed by the studio's forced attempts to turn the movie into a mainstream action flick, and critics were also widely unimpressed with the final cut of the film. However the movie is still loved by a devoted group of fans who enjoy its ambitious plot and quirky setting. It also helped pave the way for other more successful cyberpunk movies, as the Wachowski Sisters actually used Johnny Mnemonic to help them pitch their sci-fi masterpiece, The Matrix to investors.
