This fun tee features a graphic that spoofs the Bazooka Joe comics and packaging for Bazooka Bubblegum from Topps. The graphic actually advertises the brand Local Motion Hawaii, and shows Joe chewing on surfboard wax as if it were a piece of gum. Although the image leaves out Bazooka Joe's iconic eye patch, this tee is still a recognizable nod to the beloved candy mascot.
Local Motion Hawaii started as a small, Hawaii based surf shop on the island of O'ahu. In the 90s, the company went global with some of the biggest names in surfing, like Gregory "Bonga" Perkins, Jamie O'Brien, and Montgomery "Buttons" Kaluhiokalani representing the brand. Local Motion began hosting the famous Surf Into Summer contest in the 80s and it's since become one of the premier, amateur surfing contests in Hawaii. The contest was held in Waikiki until the end of the decade when it moved to the highly sought after Ala Moana Bowls on the south side of the island.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. Repairs on the front and back, and small holes on the back of the left sleeve, see pics.
