This vintage tour t-shirt for the heavy metal band Metallica is copyrighted from 1991, most likely making it from their Wherever We May Roam tour. The tour was in support of their self-titled fifth studio album. The album, which is also referred to as The Black Album, marked a change of sound for Metallica, as they transitioned away from their earlier thrash metal sound to a more rhythmic, heavy sound. Containing some of the band's most popular songs like "Enter Sandman", "Nothing Else Matters", and "Wherever I May Roam", the album managed to be the first Metallica record to make it onto the charts, sitting at the top of the Billboard 500 for four straight weeks. The album has sold over 16 million copies in the United States alone, thus certifying it as 16x platinum.

The Wherever We May Roam tour lasted from August 1991 to December 1992 and consisted of over 200 performances. Most shows took place in large arenas all across the United States and Europe, along with smaller shows done in North and South America, Asia, Australia, and Israel. During the European leg of the tour, Metallica participated in the Monsters of Rock festival. One performance, held at Tushino Airfield in Moscow, is credited as being the first free rock concert to take place in Soviet Union history. Unsurprisingly, huge crowds came out for the show, with an estimated 150,000 to 500,000 people in attendance. The two-part documentary A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica follows the band's journey from making Metallica: The Black Album to their tour experience.

Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. Double sided print.
