This vintage tee was specially made for Philly's Million Woman March, a largely successful grass-roots march organized in 1997. The main focus was to address issues facing African-American communities in Philadelphia, hoping to bring awareness and strengthen black communities and families.

Roughly 750,000 women joined forces on Benjamin Franklin Parkway, many of whom came from buses, trains, and planes from around the country. This march followed the Million Man March just two years prior. Unlike its predecessor, the Million Woman March was pulled off without any help of national organizations like the NAACP or Nation of Islam.

In an impressive feat, MWM ran on a network of women's organizations, fliers, black-run media, the internet, and word of mouth. Influential black speakers at the event included Congresswoman Maxine Waters and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, former wife of Nelson Mandela.
