This awesome vintage concert shirt is for the iconic 90s alternative rock band Pearl Jam and the shirt is from 1993 from a tour supporting the group's second studio album Vs. This was the last concert tour conducted by the band before they started their protests of the popular ticket vendor service Ticketmaster. During the tour, Pearl Jam actually set a cap on ticket prices in order to try and thwart potential scalpers, but they were outraged when they discovered that Ticketmaster had added a service charge to their tickets. This lead to the band suing the company following the tour, and they accused them of being a monopoly that was able to mark up prices more than 30% because of their lack of competitors.
Pearl Jam's attempted boycott of Ticketmaster prevented the band from performing in the United States for the next three years. Following complaints that the boycott made their shows too inaccessible to fans, the band finally returned to full scale touring in 1998 to support their fifth studio album Yield.
Despite this set back, Pearl Jam was still one of the best-selling bands to emerge from the 1990s. They were one of the key bands that was born from the grunge movement, and the Vs. Tour actually took place at the same time as the death of grunge icon, Kurt Cobain. The band was devastated by the loss of such an idol, but ultimately decided to finish out the tour amid their grief.
