Rather than contend with competing publications, the pair had the idea to create their own competition. Thus they called on \u003cem\u003eThrasher's\u003c\/em\u003e youngest employee at the time, darkroom technician, Lance Dawes. Dawes became the head of the project, and \u003cem\u003eSlap\u003c\/em\u003e produced regular issues from 1992 up until 2008. Although \u003cem\u003eSlap\u003c\/em\u003e stopped releasing print copies, the magazine continued to post content online, and their message board became a hub for skaters to connect and discuss the latest news.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFits like a modern unisex adult oversized medium.
