This sweet vintage band tee is for the Ohio based punk band the New Bomb Turks, who were formed in 1990 at Ohio State University. The band's name was inspired by the main character of the 1980 teen comedy The Hollywood Knights, and over the years the group has released a wide variety of albums, EPs, and singles, some which can't be found anywhere else. Their early releases were with the independent label Crypt Records, before they were signed to Epitaph, the label owned by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz. The band's time with Epitaph put them among the company of several other notable 90s punk bands such as NOFX, The Offspring, and Rancid. In the early 2000s, the group moved to Gearhead Records, which was an offshoot of Gearhead magazine.

Although the Turks never achieved much mainstream success, their garage punk sound was a welcome alternative to the more prevalent pop punk sounds of the 1990s, and they're remembered for songs like "Sucker Punch", "Jukebox Lean", and "Hammerless Nail".
