This sweet vintage shirt celebrates one of the most popular and influential Japanese anime series of the late 20th century, Dragon Ball Z. The show was a direct sequel to Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball series, and it originally aired in Japan from 1989 to 1996. This shirt features a graphic of the character Trunks during the Perfect Cell Saga, which didn't debut in America until 2000. More specifically this shirt features Future Trunks, a version of the character who travels to the past from an alternate timeline.

Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma, making him part Saiyan, an ultra strong race of warrior aliens that play a central role in the series. As a result, Trunks is able to achieve Super Saiyan status and this tee actually shows him going Super Saiyan 2, a transformation that he demonstrates during a battle with the villainous android Cell.
