This awesome vintage concert tee is for the Godfather of Shock Rock himself, Alice Cooper and the shirt commemorates his 1979 Madhouse of Rock World Tour. The tour was launched to help promotes Cooper's fourth studio album titled From the Inside, which was a concept album centered around the artist's stay in a New York asylum while receiving treatment for his alcoholism. The setlist for the tour featured all of the songs off the album save for "Millie and Billie", "For Veronica's Sake", and "Jacknife Johnny". The album was later adapted into the comic book Marvel Premiere #50.
Cooper is best known for his outlandish stage shows which draw inspiration from horror films and vaudeville to create elaborate shock rock spectacles. The Madhouse tour was staged to be set inside an asylum, and the concert was recorded for Cooper's first home video release The Strange Case of Alice Cooper. That same year Cooper also made several film and television appearances including The Muppet Show, Sextette, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Lunch with Soupy Sales. Soupy was a good friend of the rockstar, who fondly admitted that one of the greatest moments of his life was getting pied in the face by the comedian. After Madhouse of Rock, Cooper did not tour again until 1986 when he released his album Constrictor.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. There is a faint spot on the front, see pics.
