This beige pocket t-shirt features a design of the BD-5 Altruaire Sport Plane on the back. The tiny low wing air craft was designed for recreational use and could reach up to 232 MPH. The BD-5 was a single-seat homebuilt plane that was designed by Jim Bede in the late 1960s. It was introduced to the market by the Bede Aircraft Corporation in the early 70s. There are several BD-5s on static display across the country in museums such as the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tuscan, Arizona and the Spirit of Flight Center in Erie, Colorado. In 2002 there were estimated to only be 150 BD-5s in airworthy condition.
