This vintage military shirt has an intense graphic of a dragon getting struck by lightning and it says "Airborne Fury From Above". The shirt is likely related to the 508th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army. They are an airborne infantry regiment, which has earned the nickname "Red Devils" of "Fury From the Sky". The regiment was first formed in 1942 during World War II, and they have also served in combat in the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
The regiment was first activated at Camp Blanding, Florida and the unit served under Lieutenant Colonel Roy E. Lindquist during the duration of World War II. They were a part of Operation Overlord and they dropped into Normandy and then remained in contact with the German forces until they were relieved on July 7th. The unit was later awarded the Distinguished Unit Citation for its gallantry. The unit would also later play a significant part in the Battle of the Bulge.
