This awesome shirt features the art from the debut album of the 80s new wave band the B-52s. The album art was designed by Tony Wright who also created covers for Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, and Steve Winwood. The self-titled debut album wound up being a great introduction to the band and its kitschy lyrics and quirky sense of humor. The album peaked at number 59 on the Billboard 200 and helped the group to establish a fanbase. The album included the single "Rock Lobster" which made it onto the Billboard Hot 100.
The B-52s was formed in 1976 and the band featured Cindy Wilson, Ricky Wilson, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland, and Fred Schneider. During their early years the band made appearances at CBGB and Max's Kansas City. The group's second album Wild Planet was released in 1980 and it is widely considered by fans to be their best album. It featured their certified gold single "Private Idaho" and earned the band a spot performing on Saturday Night Live. They also were asked to perform at the Heatwave festival which was marketed as the "New Wave Woodstock".
The tag says small but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult extra small. There are two spots on the front.
