This awesome vintage rock tee is for the band Bon Jovi for their Slippery When Wet Tour which ran from 1986-1987. It was the band's first major world wide tour. Accompanying acts included Cinderella during the North American leg of the tour and Queensrych during their time in the United Kingdom. The band was also invited to participate in the Monsters of Rock festival in Germany in 1986, where they played along with Warlock, Michael Schenker Group, Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, and Scorpions.
The tour coincided with the release of Bon Jovi's third studio album, Slippery When Wet.
The record was released by Mercury Records and produced by Bruce Fairbairn, who would also produce their following album New Jersey. Although their previous release 7800° Fahrenheit was moderately successful, the band had yet to reach super star status. And so for Slippery When Wet they compiled 30 songs and auditioned them in from of local New Jersey and New York teenagers to figure out which songs would prove most popular. The process worked as the album included several hits such as "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' on a Prayer", and "Wanted Dead or Alive". All three singles made it to the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making Slippery When Wet the first hard rock album to have three Billboard top ten hits. The album's title was changed several times before it's release, and when asked about it Jon Bon Jovi explained that the name Slippery When Wet was inspired by a trip the band took to the No. 5 Orange strip club in Vancouver.
