This white vintage shirt commemorates an event called Bowzer's Rock & Roll Party at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. Bowzer was a character created by the singer Jon Bauman during his time in the band Sha Na Na. Bowzer was a greaser known for his rock and roll style and cathcphrase "Grease for Peace!" He was the star of the television variety show Sha Na Na which featured performances from the band of the same name as well as guest musicians like the Ramones, Chubby Checker, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard. After his time with Sha Na Na, Bauman became a promoter of old timey rock and roll music. The front of this shirt showcases several celebrity promotions from old rock and doo wop groups including The Shirelles, The Marvalettes, The Clovers, The Tokens, Frankie Lymon's Teenagers, The Chiffons, and The Elegants.
