This historic souvenir comes from the June 12th, 1982 rally for nuclear disarmament held in Central Park in New York City. In response to the Cold War arms race, an estimated one million demonstrators opposed to nuclear arms filled the streets of Manhattan, the biggest disarmament gathering and largest political demonstration in U.S. history. The rally was organized around the United Nations Second Special Session on Disarmament.

Attendees showed up not just against the use of nuclear weapons, but related issues such as the money President Reagan was spending on nuclear weapons while poverty was rampant in the U.S., primarily among minorities. Among these attendees, Coretta Scott King spoke, as well as musical performances by Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, and Linda Ronstadt.

This shirt fits like a modern unisex adult medium. It has fading and thinning around the chest area, see pic. Shirt is soft and thin.
