This vintage ringer tee is from the Dupont Plaza Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The hotel is located right along the beach in Condado and it was first opened in 1963 as the Puerto Rico-Sheraton Hotel. It was renamed to the Dupont Plaza Hotel in 1979, and several years later it became the site of the second deadliest hotel fire in US history. In 1986, a fire was set at the hotel by three disgruntled employees and the fire ended up claiming the lives of 97 people. The fire lead to a massive federal trial and a $130 million renovation. The hotel did not open again until 1995 and it was rebranded as the San Juan Marriott Resort and Casino.
