This awesome band tee is for Evan Johns and the H-Bombs, a rockabilly band fronted by legendary Washington D.C. guitarist Evan Johns. Johns was born in McLean, Virginia and he spent his teenage years playing around the D. C. area and apprenticing for Danny Gatton, who was famous for a style of music which he referred to as "redneck jazz". After playing with Gatton, Johns also played with the Good Humor Band and singer Billy Hancock before he formed his own band the H-Bombs in the late 70s. The H-Bombs became a popular act among the Washington D.C circuit and among their fans was Dead Kennedy's founder Jello Biafra, who described the band's sound as "a little Tex-Mex here, garage power there". The group would later release the album Rollin' Through the Night, on Biafra's label Alternative Tentacles.

Evan Johns was an energetic performer known for his excessive drinking and for leaping from the stage onto tables during performances. He moved to Austin, Texas in the mid 80s where he played with the Leroi Brothers before re-forming the H-Bombs once again. By the 90s, Johns' alcoholism and related health problems prevented him from performing regularly but he continued to write and record music until his death in 2017. He is remembered fondly by fans and peers as a master of guitar whose talents spanned across many genres.
