This awesome vintage shirt features an illustration from the famous illustrator Ralph Steadman, and it depicts a smoking dragon's head with the words "Heart of Gonzo". Steadman is best known for his collaborations with gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, which is where this image is from. The pair are known most notably for the 1971 novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which tells the story of Raoul Duke and his attorney Dr. Gonzo as they travel through Las Vegas in a drug addled haze.

Steadman first worked with Thompson for the article "The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved". He sold the original artwork for Fear and Loathing to Rolling Stone founder, Jann Wenner, for a measley $75 and has regret the transaction ever since. Nowadays Steadman originals are extremely hard to come by, as he is wary to undersell any more of his work.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was first published as a two-part series in Rolling Stone Magazine, and then was published as a book a year later. Several attempts were made to adapt the story for film, but none were successful until Terry Gilliam's 1998 release starring Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro. The movie was a box office failure but has since become a cult classic.
