This awesome raglan concert t-shirt is for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts from their 1982 I Love Rock 'n' Roll Tour. The tour promoted Jett's album of the same name. Released in 1981 this was Joan Jett's second album and the first to feature her backing band the Blackhearts. The album ended up being her most successful commercially, largely thanks to the success of the title track.
Joan Jett first saw the song "I Love Rock 'n' Roll"performed by The Arrows on TV in 1976. She was immediately enamored by the song and it became a set list staple for her, even before she ever recorded the track. The album included a number of other covers such as "Nag" by the Halos, "Bits and Pieces" by the Dave Clark Five, and "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondells. There was even a cover of "You're Too Possessive" by Jett's former band The Runaways.
I Love Rock 'n' Roll was just the beginning of Jett's success. She followed the release with Album in 1983 and Glorious Results of Misspent Youth in 1984. She played several sold out tours alongside bands like the Police, Queen, and Aerosmith, and her and the Blackhearts became the first rock band to perform a series of shows at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Broadway.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small.
