This vintage shirt celebrates the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival which is held by the Yale School of Music at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. The festival was created from concerts held in the 1890s by Ellen Battell Stoeckel and her husband Gustave Stoeckel. When Ellen Battell Stoeckel died in 1939 she requested that her estate be used for a summer music school operated by Yale. The festival eventually grew to become one of the most prestigious music festival's in the country, hosting more than 30 concerts over a nine week period.
