This awesome vintage sweatshirt is for American new wave band, Oingo Boingo. The band was founded as the Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo, a surrealist performance troupe that was created by Richard Elfman. During their early years they appeared on The Gong Show as well as in the cult film the Forbidden Zone, in which Danny Elfman portrays the devil and the group performs a cover of Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher".

In the early 80s the group transformed from avante garde musical theater troupe to rock band and shortened their name to simply Oingo Boingo. They released their first full length album in 1981 titled, Only a Lad. This was quickly followed by their subsequent albums, Nothing to Fear and Good For Your Soul. During this time the band existed as an eight person ensemble, but their lineup would change before the release of their 1985 album, Dead Man's Party

Dead Man's Party included some of the band's most memorable hits, including the title track as well as "Weird Science" which was featured in the John Hughes film of the same name. Other songs off the album also appeared in movies such as "Just Another Day" in That Was Then... This Is Now and "No One Lives Forever" in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. This shirt features the same Dia De Los Muertos imagery as the album art for Dead Man's Party.

Nowadays most people recognize former lead singer, Danny Elfman, for his work composing music for Tim Burton films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. He also provided the singing voice for Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
