This awesome college football t-shirt celebrates the 1982 Penn State Nittany Lions who were declared National Champions. The shirt shows a Nittany Lion reclining a top a bulldog skin rug in order to represent the Nittany Lions' win in the Sugar Bowl against the Georgia Bulldogs. That bowl game victory helped to cement coach Joe Paterno's first consensus national championship. The lion pictured is wearing the #14 jersey which belonged to quarterback Todd Blackledge. Following the 1982 season Blackledge was awarded the Davey O'Brien Award. He was also named MVP of the Sugar Bowl game against the Bulldogs. Afterward, nine Nittany Lions players were drafted to play in the NFL including Blackledge and running back Curt Warner, who were both picked during the first round.
