This 80's jersey style shirt is for the Pittsburg Penguins of the NHL (National Hockey League). The Penguins had it rough during the 1980s despite strong efforts to break their losing streak. Head Coach Lou Angotti drafted one of the most highly regarded draft picks in NHL history, Mario Lemieux in 1984. Despite Lemieux being a great player he was not able to get the Penguins into the playoffs, so in the late 80's they took further efforts to improve by getting a stronger supporting cast with scorers like John Cullen, Rob Brown, and Kevin Stevens; defenseman Paul Coffey; and goaltender Tom Barrasso.
In 1989, they finally made the playoffs with Lemieux leading the league in points, goals, and assists. During the playoffs, the Penguins swept the New York Rangers in the first round but their winning streak was ended by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round.
Tag says medium but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult large.
