This vintage tee pays homage to Prince's 1985 Purple Rain Tour with his band The Revolution. It's aged incredibly well and perfectly captures his eccentric style, featuring double sided print, old school graphics with paisley pattern, and soft poly cotton.
Prince and The Revolution are best remembered for their best-selling album Purple Rain which also served as the soundtrack to the namesake classic film.
Formed in 1979 by the man himself, The Revolution quickly rose to fame with the release of their soundtrack album Purple Rain (1984). By the mid-80s, the group had gained international fans and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as well as 13x Platinum certified by the RIAA.
This album birthed many top singles including three No.1's: "Raspberry Beret", "Let's Go Crazy", and "When Doves Cry." It's very much closely tied with Purple Rain the movie, also released in 1984, about a character called "The Kid." The film took place mostly in Minneapolis, Minnesota where Prince and his band were from, and aimed to showcase his unique variety of talents from singing, directing, acting, producing, and beyond.
Although he is no longer with us, Prince and his greatness live on forever through his legendary works, a super loyal fan base, and treasured memorabilia like this tee
