This concert tee is an original from the Rolling Stones' 1989 Steel Wheels Tour, specifically the show at Los Angeles Coliseum. It's been loved on hard over the years, rendering the poly cotton super thin, buttery soft, and perfectly worn-in. Features the iconic tongue and lip logo, double sided print, and a 1980s era Holoubek tag.
The '89 Steel Wheels tour promoted the bands album of the same name. This record is famous for patching up the wounds between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. It was also the last album to feature founding member Bill Wyman on bass. Steel Wheels was written just after the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and it proved to be an incredibly successful comeback for the Stones. Notable tracks include "Mixed Emotions" and "Rock and a Hard Place", both of which made it to the Top 40 of the US charts.
Steel Wheels is the longest tour the band has embarked on to date, starting at Veteran's Stadium in Philadelphia in 1989 and wrapping the following year at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. They would go on to showcase a European leg of the tour, which featured a different stage and was dubbed the Urban Jungle Tour. This tee is from their show at the Los Angeles Coliseum featuring special guests Guns N Roses and Living Colour.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. Distressed, several holes, see pics. Soft and thin. This shirt is dark gray. Double sided print.
