This cool vintage skate shirt was made back in the 80s and was a part of the Rude Dog line of apparel released by Sun Sportswear. The aforementioned cartoon character was created by Brad McMahon while he was under contract with the company. Sun Sportswear used the character for their line of surfing and skateboarding apparel and Rude Dog's funky stylization and bright coloring was meant to replicate the styles being used by other popular skate brands around the time, like Quiksilver and Vision Street Wear. The name Rude Dog was also designed to be a nod to the rude boy subculture that emerged thanks to the third wave ska movement of the late 80s.

Rude Dog wasn't just a clothing mascot however, he was also a TV star. The character was granted his own Saturday morning cartoon series in 1989. The show was also developed by Sun Sportswear and it was called Rude Dog and the Dweebs after the collection of colorful characters that McMahon crafted to go along with Rude Dog. The show didn't draw much attention during its single season, but it did feature notable voice actors like Rob Paulsen, Jim Cummings, Frank Welker, and Peter Cullen.

Fits like a modern unisex adult large. This shirt has a canvas like feel to the material.
