This sweet vintage band tee is for the heavy metal band Skid Row and the graphic is based off their song "Big Guns". The song was the opening track featured on their self-titled debut album. The album was released in 1989 by Atlantic Records and it peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 chart.
Skid Row was founded in New Jersey by bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave Sabo. Sabo was childhood friends with John Bon Jovi and the two of them had made a pact that whoever made it first in the music business would help out the other. This is how Skid Row attracted the attention of Bon Jovi's manager Doc McGhee, who first saw Skid Row perform as the opener on Bon Jovi's 1987 Slippery When Wet Tour.
Skid Row also appeared as the opener for Bon Jovi's 1989 tour in support of their album New Jersey. From there they launched straight into opening for Aerosmith for their Pump Tour. Thanks to the touring and the band's heavy air play on MTV, their debut album quickly went platinum and remained in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 three months after its initial release.
