This cool double-sided t-shirt features Spuds MacKenzie the Original Party Animal. Spuds was a bull terrier who served as the mascot for Bud Light beer in the late 1980s. Although Spuds was portrayed as male in the ads, the dog playing him was a female terrier named Honey Tree Evil Eye. The dog first appeared in a commercial during Super Bowl XXI in 1987.
Although the adverts were popular, they garnered some criticism by temperance-oriented groups who claimed the likable animal mascot was a ploy by Budweiser to get children interested in their product at an early age. Further controversy was created when Budweiser created a Christmas ad featuring Spuds dressed as Santa, since states like Ohio forbid using the image of Santa Claus to sell alcoholic beverages. The character was eventually retired in 1989.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. Large graphic on the back, dark red parts are puffy paint.
