This black t-shirt is for a performance of The Tragedy of Carmen from the Dicapo Opera Theatre. The theatre was founded in 1981 by Michael Capasso and Diane Martindale and it operated out of the lower level of the St. Jean Baptiste Church in New York City. The Tragedy of Carmen is a re-envisioning of the famous opera Carmen written by French composer Georges Bizet. It was created by Peter Brook in the 80s in an attempt to draw more focus to the colorful characters of the original story.
