This sweet baseball tee is for Cal Ripken Jr. former shortstop and third baseman for the Baltimore Orioles. His MLB career began in 1981 as the Oriole's third baseman. He was switched to shortstop that same year and earned the American League Rookie of the Year Award. This was the beginning of his consecutive games played streak. Ripken was nicknamed "the Iron Man" after he broke the previous record of consecutive games played set by Yankee's player Lou Gehrig back in 1939. Ripken broke the record in 1995 with his 2,131st consecutive game. Ripken would eventually go on to play 2,632 consecutive games.
