This awesome cropped t-shirt is for the American goth rock band Christian Death. The band was founded in 1979 by the iconic musician, poet, artist, and performance artist Rozz Williams. Williams was only a teenager when he formed the band alongside Jay (also known as John Albert), James McGearty, and George Belanger. The group gained some attention after the addition of former Adolescents guitarist Rikk Agnew. The band released their first record Only Theatre of Pain in 1982.

Williams departed the band in 1985 to pursue his interest in experimental music and performance art. A new version of the band was formed fronted by Valor Kand and they released their first post-Williams album Atrocities, which was a concept album about the effects of World War II on the European psyche. The band would go on to have their best success on the UK Independent Chart with the singles "Sick of Love" Church of No Return" and "Zero Sex". Christian Death would become integral to the birth of the deathrock genre which also produced bands such as Kommunity FK and 45 Grave.
