This amazing vintage punk tee is for the iconic band the Dead Kennedys and the shirt celebrates the group's 1987 album Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death. The album was released off Alternative Tentacles, the record label belonging to the band's front man Jello Biafra. It consisted of a unique collection of recordings and tracks that had never been featured on any of the group's previous studio albums. This included versions of several of the band's most iconic hits such as "Holiday in Cambodia", "Too Drunk to Fuck", "California Uber Alles", and their cover of the Sonny Curtis song "I Fought the Law".

First formed in 1978, The Dead Kennedys were one of the many influential punk bands born out of California and they were known over the years for their political lyrics and satirical humor. Their music and imagery was also known to stir up a lot of controversy and several music stores refused to even stock the band's music. This lead to debates about the censorship of rock music and spurred Biafra to become a vocal campaigner against the Parents Music Resource Center.

One song that was completely unique to Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death was the live recording of "Pull My Strings". This song was only ever performed once, during the Bay Area Music Awards in 1980. The band had been asked to perform "California Uber Alles" for an audience of music industry bigwigs and they had been invited in order to give the event some "new wave credibility". About 15 seconds into the song Biafra stopped the band saying, "Hold it! We've gotta prove that we're adults now. We're not a punk rock band, we're a new wave band." That's when the band performed a quick costume change, adding black ties in front of their white t-shirts, which had all been painted with a black "S". The ties crossed over the "S" to form a dollar sign and they launched into the song, which criticized the ethics of the mainstream music industry.

Fits like a modern unisex adult large. There are several holes and the sleeves are cut, see pics.
