Diamond Rio has roots dating back to 1982, originally formed as a permananet installment at Opryland USA theme park, owned by the famous Dolly Parton. They were actually called the Tennessee River Boys or Grizzy River Boys. By 1989, there was a complete overhaul in the band lineup- the original three went seperate ways and eight new members took their place. These eight remain in the band to this day; Marty Roe, Dan Truman, Jimmy Olander, Gene Johnson, Dana Williams, and Brian Pout.
This 1992 tour was probably to promote the band's second album release, called Close to the Edge. It is best known for hit tracks like "Oh Me, Oh My, Sweet Baby", "In a Week or Two", and "Sawmill Road" all of which graced the Billboard country charts. The album went on to become certified gold in the USA.
