This white graphic t-shirt includes a film strip image of the beloved cartoon character Felix the Cat. Felix was first created in 1919, during the silent film era. He was a collaboration between Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer and he was the first animated character to gain a significant amount of popularity. By the early 20s Felix began appearing in his own comic strip and his face adorned various merchandise like ceramics, toys, and postcards.

When sound cartoons were introduced, Felix's popularity began to wane as Sullivan and Messmer were reluctant to switch to the new medium. Felix was later reintroduced in the 1950s. The old Felix cartoons were redistributed and new ones were produced. Messmer's assistant Joe Oriolo also gave the character a redesign.
