This vintage band tee is for heavy metal icons Metallica and it features graphics on both the front and the back. The shirt is from the 90s, but the graphics used are from the band's 1984 album Ride the Lightning. Ride the Lighting was only the group's second album and it managed to peak at the number 100 spot on the Billboard 200, but it received no radio airplay. The group promoted the album through their European Bang That Head That Doesn't Bang Tour and they also played at festivals like Monster of Rock and Day on the Green. The album was followed by the release of Master of Puppets, which became their first album to be certified gold, and it eventually became certified six times platinum.

This shirt is from around the time that the band released their self-titled album, often referred to as The Black Album. This was their fifth studio release and it included some of their most famous singles such as "Enter Sandman", "The Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam", and "Sad But True".  This became the group's best-selling album and it debuted at number one in ten countries. It also was Metallica's first album to top the charts, spending four consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200. That fall the band also participated in the first open-air rock concert to be held in the former Soviet Union, which was a part of the 1991 Monsters of Rock series.
