This awesome jacket was made by the brand OshKosh B'Gosh, and it has the company's name on the buttons and on a tag that says this garment was union made. This vintage chore coat is made from a lightweight denim and was likely designed for railroad workers. The jacket is decorated with a hickory stripe design, however unlike most hickory striped workwear, this jacket comes in a bold red as opposed to the standard blue. This unique coloring would have increased visibility on the rails, which is why some people referred to this pattern as the safety stripe.
