This rad t-shirt is a keepsake from REO Speedwagon's 1979 tour in promotion of their album Nine Lives. The album was the band's ninth and it contained nine tracks, hence its name. It was REO's last album to hearken to the band's hard rock roots, as they'd take a notably more pop approach to their next, and highly successful, album Hi Infidelity.

REO Speedwagon was started by college students at the University of Illinois. Founding members Neal Doughty and Alan Grazter started jamming together and soon, REO Speedwagon was formed. During their early years, REO struggled to find a permanent lead vocalist. Kevin Cronin, who sang on REO's second album but left due to conflicts, eventually settled in with the band for its sixth album, R.E.O.. Some of their early hits from the 70s include the album You Can Tune a Piano but You Can't Tuna Fish which went double platinum thanks to tracks like "Time for Me to Fly," and "Roll with the Changes."
