This vintage tee is totally blank on the front, but the back rocks a classic image from the California T-Shirt Shop. The back graphic depicts a river rat, and the cartoon image shows the rodent holding a mug of beer as his speedboat careens across the water. This tee hails from the late 70s, when one of the biggest influences on graphic tees was the work of underground comix artists like Gilbert Shelton, Bill Griffith, and Robert Crumb.
The underground comics world was also tied closely with custom car culture, as many of the artists also found work with publications like Hot Rod magazine. One of the most famous custom car artists was Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, who was responsible for creating the iconic Rat Fink character, and the influence of that scene is illustrated perfectly by this tee.
Fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Large. This shirt is soft with light discoloration and spots throughout, see pics.
