This amazing tee is a sweet 70s find from Virginia Beach. This shirt was expertly printed by the iconic t-shirt brand Crazy Shirts of Hawaii, and it promotes a former Virginia Beach nightlife spot called Tiki. The image is copyright to Peabody's, one of the most popular nightclubs in Virginia Beach, which has remained open since the late 60s. Peabody's was opened by a pair of lifeguards, Nabil Kassir and Edmund Ruffin, who became two of the biggest names in the local 70s club scene.
In addition to Peabody's, the pair also owned Rogues and the bar advertised on this shirt, Tiki. It's safe to assume that this shirt was likely sold out Peabody's T-shirt Business, that the pair also ran out of the downstairs of the club. During those early days, Peabody's was used to print shirts for local retailers up and down the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. This shirt is faded throughout, see pics.
